e-Commerce Setup Guide
On your way to selling items online in your own store, you may find this guide helpful. This is the detailed process for setting up
a secure online store with the ability to accept credit cards under your own new merchant account.
- Signup for a Xenon or Nitrogen plan.
- Apply for your Authorize.net merchant account.
- Create a new trouble ticket from inside the control panel interface asking our staff to install an osCommerce store for you ($100 setup).
In this trouble ticket, you must give us the necessary information to open your store such as business name, address, phone, email, etc. as well as
at least one product with price, description and picture (for Authorize.net's verification purposes). In addition, we will need a logo for your store.
If you do not have a logo, our staff can create a simple placeholder logo that contains your business name.
- Create another trouble ticket from inside the control panel interface asking our staff to purchase a Thawte Security Certificate for your site
($50 setup, $199 per year). We will need from you: either a Business License, Articles of Incorporation or a DBA (Fictitious Business Name Certificate)
that corresponds to the domain and store name you wish to use. Please fax as many of these documents as possible to 858-530-2226. If everything goes
smoothly, you could be selling things from your online store within a week!
