What does 'Fixed Wireless' mean?
Fixed wireless is a technology that uses an antenna fixed in one
position on your roof or inside a window to communicate with a central
office that in turn connects you to the internet. This method of
connection is very fast and has a much lower latency than other
wireless solutions.
How secure is a fixed wireless connection?
The narrow beam point-to-point fixed wireless technology is not
like a home or office wireless connection, but instead is a very direct
link to the central office, thus making it unlikely for people to
'listen in' on your connection. In the unlikely event that someone does
get in the narrow beam and intercepts your signal, all of your data is
encrypted by the central office so as to prevent any misuse.
Will bad weather affect my wireless connection?
Excluding the very unlikely event that your antenna is physically
disabled (broken, knocked over) by severe weather conditions, bad
weather does not affect a fixed wireless connection on the whole.
Will birds on my antenna affect my wireless service?
No, animal obstructions should not be a concern with your antenna.
